Christmas 2017

Join us in celebrating the birth of Jesus at our various events!

30th November Advent Study Group 19:30

Join us for an evening of bible study based on the York courses book So What Are You Waiting For? This will run every Thursday evening during Advent. There will be a different speaker each week. These are stand alone sessions so you can come to just one or (hopefully) all of them. They are held in the upstairs Coffee Lounge. The other dates are; 7th December, 14th December and 21st December.

3rd December Service of Loving Remembrance 18:30

We recognise that Christmas can be a difficult time for family and friends of those who are no longer with us.  We are therefore warmly inviting you and your family to a Service of Loving Remembrance.

9th December Winter Fair 10:00

Join us for our winter fair! There will be lots of stalls and activities for the whole family. All money raised will be going to church charities.

10th December Gift Service 10:45 – Toy Donations welcome

This is service is for us to remember those less fortunate than us. We ask that you donate a new toy (ages 0 to 14 years) which will go to the Wood Street Mission. They always have a shortage of toys for those 10 years and older. The office will be able to accept any donations if you are not able to come to the service.

10th December Christingle service 16:00 at St Paul’s CofE

Every year we alternate hosting this fun filled service with our neighbouring church, St Paul’s. This year’s Christingle will be hosted by them. The kids will have lots of fun making their very own Christingle.

Each piece of the Christingle holds special symbolism to help children understand  the importance of Jesus and the Gospel, and its relevance at Christmas time.

17th December Carol Service 16:00

If you have not managed to get into the Christmas spirit by this time, this service is sure to get you there. Bring your best singing voice and join us for an afternoon of carol singing.

20th December  Carols at the Plough 20:30

This event is always a success because it is so much fun. Grab a pint, sing some carols and have a bit of a dance!

24th December Nativity 10:30

With all the hustle and bustle, we can sometimes forget that this season is about the birth of Jesus. This service takes us back to the story of Christmas. It is a wonderful service to have on Christmas eve and enjoyable for everyone.

24th December Midnight communion 23:30

This is a special service to mark the start of Christmas.

25th December All Age Celebration 10:30

The big day has arrived! Join us in celebration of Jesus’ birth. This will also be the last service from our minister Rev Stuart Radcliffe. It will be a great event and we really hope you will join us!
